Marcos Jr. laughs off illegal drug allegations amid Senate investigation

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. shrugged off accusations of involvement in illegal drugs during an ambush interview on Monday. When questioned about the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs’ investigation into leaked confidential documents linking him to the drug trade, Marcos simply laughed and walked away.

The Senate inquiry followed the circulation of supposed leaked documents on social media, which allegedly linked Marcos to illegal drug operations. Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo emphasized during the hearing that these documents, namely a pre-operation report and an authority to operate, do not exist.

“There are no such documents, your honor… Siguradong-sigurado po kami. Walang dokumento na ganyan (We are very sure of that. There is no such document),” Lazo stated firmly.

PDEA had previously released a statement on April 2, confirming that the alleged documents were not found in their Plans and Operations Reports Management Information System (PORMIS).
