The Court of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced a 10-day official mourning period following the death of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Monday morning.
During the mourning period, flags across Dubai will be flown at half-mast starting Monday, according to the Court of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his condolences to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid over the loss of his brother, highlighting Sheikh Ahmed’s longstanding contributions to the UAE’s development since the country’s founding.
“I extend my sincere condolences to Mohammed Bin Rashid on the passing of his brother Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose longstanding contributions to the development of the UAE since its founding continue to inspire our nation’s journey of progress.
“May God rest his soul in eternal peace and mercy and grant his loved ones comfort during this difficult time.”
The Court of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum also mourned the passing of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
