Guests will be able to book stays at the Wynn Al Marjan Island resort starting in September 2027, according to a newly disclosed timeline for one of the region’s most closely watched developments.
Craig Billings, chief executive of Wynn Resorts, delivered the update during an investor call held on Tuesday, August 5, 2026. He said: “Wynn Resorts, alongside our partners in Ras Al Khaimah, are now pleased to announce that Wynn Al Marjan Island, the most exciting integrated resort to be developed in over a decade, will open its doors to guests in September of 2027.”
Located in Ras Al Khaimah, the property will house a luxury spa, a beach club, and what will become the first casino to operate anywhere in the UAE. The gaming floor represents the country’s first commercial gaming facility, a distinction tied to the license Wynn secured in 2024 — the first of its kind issued nationally.
The regulatory groundwork behind that milestone traces to late 2023, when authorities created the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority. By July 2024, the UAE had finalized its framework governing commercial gaming, establishing responsible-gaming standards and clearing a legal path for operators to enter the market.
Dubai has its own roster of Las Vegas names attached to The Island Dubai project, including MGM, Bellagio, and Aria, though nothing so far suggests a casino will launch there ahead of the Ras Al Khaimah venue.
Beyond the gaming component, the resort is being built on a considerable scale. Plans call for upwards of 1,500 rooms, suites, and residences, along with 12 swimming pools, a superyacht marina, and 420 meters of private white-sand beach. Visitors will also find 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a 900-seat theater, and a retail promenade covering 15,000 square meters.
Access to the island is being addressed through a 548-meter bridge that will link the site to the E311 and E611 highways. A flying taxi service is also planned to connect the resort with Dubai, cutting travel time to roughly 15 minutes.
Work on the development has reached its concluding stage, with crews having finished the structural concrete on the centerpiece 70-story tower.
