A bill meant to support creative workers and expand the Philippines’ creative economy is being shaped with input from SB19 and its management company, 1Z Entertainment, Sen. Bam Aquino said.
Aquino described the collaboration as the chamber adopted Senate Resolution 545 on September 28, 2026. He filed and sponsored the measure, which commends the P-pop group. Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin attended the plenary session.
In pushing for the resolution, Aquino pointed to the group’s achievements abroad as proof of what Filipino artists can accomplish internationally. He said those gains also show there are opportunities for the country’s creative sector as a whole.
The latest of those achievements came in Chicago. SB19 played Grant Park on July 30 as part of Lollapalooza’s 2026 lineup and became the first Filipino act to perform at the festival. “Lawless” was among the songs in the set. The group then went to Japan to perform at Summer Sonic in August.
More new music is on the way, with SB19 teasing a release for October.
Before its festival run, the group had already reached the top of Billboard charts. “DAM” was the first P-pop song to hit No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. “Bazinga” held the top spot on the Hot Trending Songs chart for seven weeks. Other SB19 releases include “MAPA,” “GENTO” and “VISA.”
Under Resolution 545, the Senate formally recognized the group for its achievements and for its contribution to the Philippine creative industries.
