OWWA expands E-CARD benefits for Filipino workers in the UAE

Overseas Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates are set to gain access to a wider range of discounts and services after the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration signed fresh partnership deals with businesses across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Deputy Administrator for Policy Development and Strategic Partnerships Ryan Vincent L. Uy led the ceremonial signing of memoranda of agreement [on date] with companies spanning cargo and logistics, hotels and hospitality, travel and tourism, restaurants and coffee shops, clinics, beauty and wellness, cleaning services, flowers and events, and airlines.

The agreements bring the new establishments into the OWWA E-CARD program, which lets active members claim discounts, rewards, and other perks at participating partners. OWWA issues the card as proof of active membership and as a government-issued identification document that members also use to access its programs and services.

Among the business groups joining the initiative is the Pinas Group of Companies, which has backed similar efforts for the Filipino community in the UAE.

The program’s reach extends well beyond the Emirates. Members can tap E-CARD offers in Australia, Bahrain, Brunei, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines, with the list of partners growing in each location.

OWWA has pointed members to its official E-CARD portal, ecard.owwa.gov.ph, for the current roster of participating establishments and the discounts available.
