Four injured, including Filipina, in New York stabbing; suspect allegedly mentally unwell

Four individuals were injured, including a Filipina, in a recent stabbing incident in New York City, USA. The arrested suspect is reported to have mental health issues.

The injured Filipina, identified as 46-year-old Bel Molina from Leyte, sustained arm wounds requiring stitches. Molina was jogging along 54th Street over the weekend when she encountered the suspect in a wheelchair.

Approaching the suspect, Molina noticed the individual wielding a weapon and was subsequently grazed on the arm, necessitating medical attention.

Having lived in the US for 12 years, Molina stated this incident was unprecedented for her.

Apart from Molina, the suspect allegedly attacked others in public places across New York City. Among the victims were a 69-year-old woman who sustained facial and bodily injuries, and a 57-year-old man stabbed in the back.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Kareem Philips, is currently in custody at the New York Police Department. He faces charges including two counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
