Dubai Vocal Ensemble sets high note, clinching top awards at ChoirFest Middle East 2024

The Christian Voices Chorale, also known as the Dubai Vocal Ensemble, has clinched top honors at ChoirFest Middle East 2024. The all-Filipino choir, based in St. Mary’s Church, Dubai, has been awarded the prestigious titles of “Best Single Performance” for their rendition of “Jubilate Deo” by Mark Agpasa, and the coveted “Choir of the Year 2024” award, solidifying their status as one of the leading choirs in the region.

The competition, which took place at Gems Wellington on February 24th, 2024, saw the Dubai Vocal Ensemble stand out among its peers, showcasing the exceptional talent, dedication, and teamwork of its members. This achievement marks the third time the ensemble has been recognized as the Choir of the Year Middle East, having previously won the title in 2013 and 2015.

ChoirFest Middle East, organized by The Fridge ME, is an annual celebration of choral music that spans across the seven Emirates. The festival, which returned in January and February 2024, aims to honor the talent, drive, and creativity of choirs in both Junior and Senior categories. This year’s expansion allowed choirs from across the country to participate, making the competition more fierce and inclusive than ever.

Under the musical direction of Mr. Alvin Mangoma, the Dubai Vocal Ensemble has demonstrated unparalleled excellence in choral performance.
