Dubai Airport’s Smart Gates: Are you registered to use them?

Dubai International Airport (DXB) offers a quick passport control process through its Smart Gates for registered passengers.

Not sure if you’re registered? Here’s how to check:

Steps to Determine Your Smart Gate Eligibility:

  1. Go to the official website of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) at gdrfad.gov.ae.
  2. On the homepage, scroll to find the ‘Inquiry for Smart Gate Registration’ service and click the red ‘Start Service’ button.
  3. You have several options to proceed:

    * Use your File Number found on your visa sticker or e-visa. Select ‘Resident’ or ‘Permit’, the issuing Emirate, and enter the file number.
    * Utilize your UDB Number, Emirates Unified Number, or Emirates ID number.
    * Input your Passport Number and nationality.
  4. Provide your birth date.
  5. Indicate your gender.
  6. Complete the ‘I’m not a robot’ captcha and hit ‘Submit’.
  7. The GDRFA-Dubai will notify if you’re registered. If so, you’ll see: ‘Record is registered. You can use Smart Gates.’

It’s important to note that many international passengers who have previously passed through passport control at Dubai Airports might already be registered. However, it’s always best to verify before you travel.
