GMA executives join Philippine panel at Asia-Pacific creative awards forum

Two senior GMA Network executives took part in a high-level industry roundtable at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) National Winners 2026 event in Manila on May 14, representing the network alongside other major figures in Philippine film and media.

Screenwriter and GMA Public Affairs Senior Assistant Vice President Anj Atienza and GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes — who also serves as President and CEO of GMA Films — spoke at a panel discussion titled “Spotlight Philippines: Local Stories, Global Opportunities,” moderated by AACA President and Emmy Award winner Michael McKay.

Atienza, a multiple award recipient for screenwriting, is credited for writing “Firefly” and was the 2025 AACA National Winner for “Green Bones.” Gozon-Valdes, through GMA Films, has produced both titles, along with “Balota.”

The panel also included Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairman and CEO Jose Javier Reyes, Regal Entertainment Executive Producer and COO Keith Monteverde, and Rein Entertainment Co-Founder, President, and CEO Lino Cayetano.

GMA Network Entertainment Group Vice President for Musical, Variety, Specials, and Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara hosted the event’s welcome proceedings. Santiago-Lara holds the designation of Philippine Ambassador to the AACA.

The AACA recognizes excellence in film, television, and digital media across the Asia-Pacific region, convening creators, broadcasters, producers, and industry partners through conferences and year-round programming.
