Johnny Biryani of TAG 91.1 reveals the secrets behind his success and community impact

When the strains of a self-proclaimed “goal-digger” echo through the sands of Dubai, they harmonize to form the melody of Kenneth Aglubo’s journey. More familiarly known as Johnny Biryani of TAG 91.1, Kenneth orchestrates a symphony of pursuits that blend his varied passions for music, photography, community, and individual empowerment.

Kenneth’s overture commenced in 2015, when he traded the verdant landscapes of the Philippines for the golden sands of Dubai, stepping into the arena of international opportunities.

Driven by an adventurous spirit, he ventured, “I’ve always wanted to explore something new and do things I used to fear and hate.”

This bold transposition set the stage for his diverse professional suite in the UAE, beginning as a photographer and sales associate for an events management company.

The photographic lens brought him face-to-face with renowned personalities like golfer Henrik Stenson and boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather Jr., encapsulating their moments in frames of memory. His quest for diversity steered him to freelance engagements with Al Thaki Studio, exploring the picturesque charm of dhow cruises in Creek, Dubai through photography and sales.

In 2018, the airwaves of Dubai resonated with Kenneth’s voice as he embraced the role of a radio presenter at TAG 91.1, a Filipino radio station in the city. Co-hosting the lively “Tag Pack Up Na” with Maria Maldita, Kenneth discovered a platform to connect, inspire, and entertain the Filipino community with a medley of trending stories, music, and engaging banter.

Reflecting on the community interactions and roadshows, he shares, “It brings me a sense of joy and fulfillment to see firsthand how we were able to inspire and impact many Filipinos in the UAE.”

Kenneth’s symphony was composed of crescendos of challenges and diminuendos of resilience. Visa complexities, professional conflicts, and moments of uncertainty marked the staccato beats of his journey. With the unwavering support of his mother and newfound opportunities, Kenneth composed a resilient comeback.

He reflects, “After a month of uncertainty, I was able to bounce back…”, showcasing his steadfast resolve.

This tenacity became the bassline for his passion for creating impactful content and connecting with his audience. Kenneth’s initiative and dedication have been instrumental in orchestrating viral content on TAG 91.1’s social media platforms and conducting trendsetting interviews.

He emphasizes his commitment, stating, “I’m very particular with the impact and results. That’s how passionate I am.”

The diverse cityscape of Dubai has offered Kenneth the independence and myriad opportunities he sought since his college days. He expresses his affection for the city, saying, “I love working in Dubai because I feel safe here. Also, you get lots of opportunities everywhere!”

With plans of continuing his symphony in Dubai for the next three decades, Kenneth aspires to be a beacon of inspiration and support for others.

His journey also resounds with the harmonious notes of theater, reflecting his time with “Tanghalang SLU”.

The accolades and experiences gained there have been integral to his development, contributing to his multifaceted persona.

Kenneth’s melody is not just a personal anthem but also a composition of hope and wisdom for his fellow kababayans.

He resonates with the words of Dr. Bhawna Gautam, sharing, “Sometimes you go through a rough patch so that you learn to balance before walking the hardest path.”

He encourages maintaining hope and learning through the arduous segments of life’s composition, preparing for the significant movements that lie ahead.
