45 OFWs from Dubai land in Manila, receive immediate gov’t assistance

Sixty people in total — 45 overseas Filipino workers and 15 of their family members — touched down at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City on April 23, having evacuated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates aboard Emirates Airlines flights EK 330 and EK 336.

Their arrival was coordinated through a whole-of-government response led by the Department of Migrant Workers, with the Philippine Embassy in the UAE, the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai, OWWA, DSWD, DOH, and the MIAA Medical Team all playing active roles in the operation.

Financial assistance and transport services were made available to the returnees upon arrival. Each OFW also underwent an assessment process tied to the National Reintegration Network, a program designed to help returning workers rebuild their lives and livelihoods in the Philippines.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had directed government agencies to ensure that every returning OFW receives the support needed to recover and start over.
