Work from park? Dubai is making it official with new co-working spaces in nature

Public parks in Dubai are being reimagined as places where residents can log in and get to work, following the launch of a new initiative by Dubai Municipality that introduces professional workspaces into the emirate’s green spaces.

Called “Work from Park,” the programme targets freelancers, entrepreneurs, remote workers, and small and medium-sized enterprises seeking alternatives to traditional office settings — without requiring them to give up an outdoor environment.

To get the infrastructure off the ground, the municipality has inked memoranda of cooperation with two private firms: Group AMANA and Letswork LLC. The agreements cover construction, activation, and day-to-day operations of the work-enabled park facilities.

Al Barsha Pond Park will host the initiative’s first location, expected to open in May 2026. Group AMANA, operating through its DuBox division, will handle construction using off-site modular building technology — an approach the municipality says meets sustainability and flexibility requirements while allowing faster deployment.

Letswork, which operates a platform connecting users to a network of shared workspaces, will manage the operational side. Park visitors will have access to hot desks, event spaces, podcast studios, and creative production facilities through the Letswork platform. The company will also run educational programmes and skill-building sessions aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship and creative talent.

Dubai Municipality framed the initiative as consistent with several of the emirate’s long-term planning frameworks, including the Dubai 2040 Parks and Greenery Strategy, the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, and the economic targets set out under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

More park locations are expected to be added throughout the year, with the municipality describing the rollout as part of a broader public-private partnership model designed to draw private sector investment into urban development.
