The US diplomatic mission in Kuwait has restored its full range of services after suspending certain functions for several months over regional security threats, according to a State Department update issued Wednesday.
Consular and diplomatic work has resumed at the embassy, the department confirmed in its newest travel and security advisory, signaling a return to standard operations.
The earlier pullback in activities, which took effect February 28, stemmed from worries about the safety of US staff and installations throughout the Gulf. Those concerns intensified as Iran, the United States and Israel traded military strikes, sharpening the threat picture across the region.
A subsequent understanding between Washington and Tehran lowered the risk of a wider confrontation, clearing the way for American missions in the Gulf to phase normal functions back into place.
