Skyscanner, the global travel app, has identified a burgeoning trend among UAE travellers as they gear up for Eid Al Fitr 2024: the rise of Celebration Vacationers. According to Skyscanner data, destinations like Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Türkiye have emerged as top choices for group trips among UAE travellers this year.
Celebration vacationers are a growing segment within the travel industry, characterized by their penchant for crafting enduring memories in some of the world’s most stunning locales. These travellers prioritize commemorating significant milestones and festivities, such as Eid Al Adha, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions, transforming them into unforgettable experiences.
Skyscanner’s data highlights that an impressive 72% of UAE travellers have embarked on group trips to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries, underlining the popularity of this trend. Furthermore, an additional 23% expressed keen interest in participating in such celebratory journeys in the future.
Despite the increasing allure of celebration vacationers, UAE travellers encounter various challenges when organizing large group trips. Skyscanner’s findings reveal common obstacles, with 42% of respondents citing difficulty in deciding on the destination, and an equal percentage expressing concerns about trip costs. Additionally, 41% reported challenges in agreeing on suitable travel dates, while 36% felt uncertain about effective communication within the travel group.

To address these challenges and streamline the planning process, Skyscanner has introduced the brand-new ‘Saved’ feature within its app. This feature allows travellers to save their choices, making it easier to review and share them with friends or family before booking. Skyscanner also offers expert tips for group travellers this Eid Al Fitr, including using calendar apps to finalize travel dates, booking together to save time and money, being flexible with departure points, and utilizing Skyscanner’s ‘Everywhere’ search to find the best deals.
