UAE president announces 50% salary increase for all mosque staff

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has mandated a substantial financial boost for all mosque staff, including imams and muezzins, affiliated with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE). The directive ensures a monthly allowance equivalent to 50 per cent of the basic salary for these workers, a decision that has been closely overseen and supported by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of GAIAE, confirmed that this allowance will be seamlessly integrated into the monthly wages of the staff. He highlighted the move as a token of appreciation from the President for the imams and muezzins, who play a pivotal role in maintaining a serene and conducive environment for worship, adhering strictly to the highest quality standards.

Expressing his gratitude, Al Darei thanked President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their continuous support and attention to the needs of mosque workers.
