Trillanes says ICC may next target Bong Go with arrest warrant

Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed that Bong Go could face an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court following the expected issuance of one against Ronald dela Rosa.

In a report aired Tuesday on GMA News’ “24 Oras,” Trillanes said he had received information indicating that Go was allegedly being investigated by the ICC for crimes against humanity, murder, and attempted murder linked to former president Rodrigo Duterte. He added that the release of any warrant against Go may still take several months.

Trillanes alleged that Go was reported to the ICC over claims that he handled reward payments during the period of extrajudicial killings tied to Duterte’s anti-drug campaign. He also accused the senator of serving as head of the so-called “Special Operations Group” within Duterte’s alleged “National Death Squad.”

“Ito yung pagbabayad o pagiging accountable…noong namamayagpag sila, wala silang pakialam sa buhay ng Pilipino. Ito na, singilan na ito,” Trillanes said.

The former senator also mentioned the possibility that former Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde could likewise be subjected to an ICC arrest warrant.
