With regional tensions prompting security alerts from UAE authorities, Philippine diplomatic posts in the country have issued guidance to the estimated hundreds of thousands of Filipinos living and working there.
The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates jointly released an advisory calling on Filipinos across the UAE to keep calm and track updates from credible sources, specifically naming the UAE Government and the Philippine Embassy and Consulate General alongside reputable news outlets.
Should conditions on the ground worsen, the missions have a clear instruction for the community: stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary movement. The shelter-in-place guidance reflects the broader precautionary posture that UAE authorities have already adopted, with the Ministry of Interior declaring it is at its highest level of readiness and the General Civil Aviation Authority having partially closed the country’s airspace.
