A school principal in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur is facing charges under the country’s main anti-drug law after being caught in a buy-bust operation last March 20, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency reported.
The 45-year-old male, whose name was not released, was apprehended in Barangay Poblacion following an operation the PDEA said was backed by intelligence gathered across multiple drug law enforcement units.
Authorities recovered two sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect, with a combined estimated street value of P6,800.
“Prior to the operation, the suspect had been subjected to extensive verification and surveillance by different drug law enforcement units to validate and confirm his involvement in illegal drug activities within the area,” the PDEA said.
He is currently held at the Tagbina Municipal Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
