Maricar embarked on her transformative journey with a heart brimming with dreams and a commitment to hard work. Her initial role as a manicurist in a spa was just the beginning. It wasn’t long before her dedication and enthusiasm paved the way to a significant career shift. Maricar joined a prominent hospital in Abu Dhabi as a receptionist, where her capabilities quickly shone through, earning her a promotion to operating theatre booking coordinator in just three months. Over nearly five years, she became an instrumental figure in the hospital, ensuring the seamless operation of its surgical facilities.
Her journey didn’t stop there. Driven by a desire to further her impact, Maricar took on new challenges in a renowned private hospital, excelling in various roles from clinic coordinator to executive assistant to the Hospital CEO. Her leadership and organizational skills were crucial in the commissioning of Abu Dhabi’s largest cancer hospital, among other initiatives. Despite not holding a bachelor’s degree, Maricar’s thirst for knowledge and commitment to lifelong learning saw her expanding her expertise within the healthcare industry.
Life, however, had its plans, introducing health challenges that led Maricar to take a hiatus, focusing on her well-being. Returning stronger, she ventured into a government project, contributing her wealth of experience and discovering a passion for culinary and baking therapy—a therapeutic journey blending her love for cooking with her commitment to service.
Beyond her professional achievements, Maricar’s story is also one of love and partnership. Her journey was emboldened by the support of her true love, who stood by her from the early days of her healthcare career. Their relationship, strengthened through shared experiences and mutual respect, played a pivotal role in Maricar’s journey, offering encouragement and companionship through every challenge and victory.
