Commuters shuttling between Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai gain a wider set of departure choices starting Monday, as the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority lifts its daily count to 19 buses running in either direction.
Under the reworked timetable, effective August 24, 2026, the earliest departure out of Ras Al Khaimah rolls out at 5am. Direct trips follow at 6am, 7am and 8am before the schedule shifts to Sharjah-routed services spanning 9am through 3pm. Two more direct runs are set for 3.30pm and 5.30pm, with Sharjah-linked buses filling the 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm slots. The 9pm service closes out the day by threading through Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah.
Riders heading the opposite way from Dubai can catch hourly buses via Umm Al Quwain between 7.30am and 5.30pm. Direct departures then take over at 6pm and 8pm, supplemented by Umm Al Quwain-routed trips at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm and 11.30pm. That final 11.30pm run gives late travelers a way back, and six of the Dubai-bound services operate as direct trips.
The overhaul stretches operating hours on both ends, pairing earlier morning starts from Ras Al Khaimah with after-hours returns from Dubai.
This latest move builds on a broader push by the emirate to knit together its residential zones, landmark sites and adjacent emirates through public transit. The authority has been widening its network steadily throughout the year.
One earlier step came with the revival of the Purple Route linking Al Nakheel and Manar Mall. Back in service since June 3, 2026, the line runs 12 trips a day and folds in nine stops across 14 kilometers, reaching Obaida Allah Hospital, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Hospital and Manar Mall among its healthcare, education, government and commercial stops.
Officials frame these upgrades as part of a wider goal to position transit as a practical, reachable choice for both residents and visitors while advancing sustainable travel across Ras Al Khaimah.
