New Abu Dhabi airport looking for over 1,400 volunteers to act as passengers

The new Midfield Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport, which recently gained cinematic fame as the backdrop for a thrilling rooftop action scene in Tom Cruise’s latest movie, ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’, is now calling on community members for a unique volunteer opportunity.

Ahead of its official unveiling, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Airports, the Emirates Foundation’s Takatof social volunteering programme is seeking 1,450 community members to act as passengers, ensuring operational readiness. According to a Khaleej Times report, this initiative will test various aspects of passenger processing such as check-in, gates, immigration, and security, covering departures, transfers, and arrivals.

This unique experience is open to individuals between 18 and 60 years of age and will provide participants with an exclusive preview of the Terminal’s state-of-the-art facilities and architectural prowess.

Hasan Al Ali, the project lead of Emirates Foundation’s Takatof programme, spoke with Khaleej Times about the initiative, emphasizing the value of volunteering. “Every initiative is an opportunity to glean life lessons,” Al Ali remarked. “We warmly invite all interested parties to volunteer and discover the myriad opportunities on our website.”

For those eager to be among the first to witness the terminal and contribute to its operational success, the volunteer initiative takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11 am to 4 pm, until the end of the month. More information and registration details can be found at www.volunteers.ae.
