A private appraisal attached to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s latest wealth disclosure places the combined value of assets held by him and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at ₱1,457,031,222.53 — a figure roughly three times higher than what the official document itself reflects.
The 2025 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), obtained by GMA News, lists a joint net worth of ₱475,931,289.93 based on tax declaration values and acquisition costs, as required under Civil Service Commission rules. The presidential couple declared zero liabilities.
The gap between the two figures stems from a supplementary appraisal conducted by Cuervo Appraisers, the same firm Marcos has previously engaged to assess his properties. The Cuervo report, dated December 2025 and appended to the SALN as an annex, values the couple’s real and personal holdings at the higher amount — representing a 5.94% increase from the ₱1.375 billion valuation reflected in the President’s 2024 disclosure.
On a year-over-year basis, the official SALN figure itself rose by 22.24%, up from the ₱389.36 million declared in 2024.
The SALN was filed as a joint declaration and signed on April 30, 2026. Liza Araneta-Marcos is listed as First Lady of the Philippines and part-time lecturer at the College of Law of the University of the Philippines. The couple indicated no unmarried children below 18 years of age living in the household.
Among the business interests disclosed, the President’s SALN lists Araca Resources Corporation, engaged in coffee farming in Benguet and acquired in July 2001, and El Paraiso Farms, Inc., also based in Benguet and involved in agriculture, with a connection dating to February 1969. The declarant’s Cuervo-appraised supplemental sheet, however, lists no business interests under the President’s name.
Relatives in government service disclosed in the filing include the President’s sister, Senator Maria Imelda Marcos-Manotoc; his son, Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos; and first cousins Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez of the 1st District of Leyte and Eugenio Angelo M. Barba, who represents the 2nd District of Ilocos Norte.
