A free public run organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Zayed Charity Run is set to take place this Saturday, 18 April 2026, at Wahat AlKarama, starting at 8:00AM.
Called Run for the Nation, the 5K event is open to all residents regardless of age, ability, or nationality. Organisers describe it as a community moment rather than a competitive race, welcoming families, friends, and individuals who want to participate at their own pace — whether running or walking.
The event is framed as an expression of gratitude toward those who have contributed to the UAE, from frontline workers to everyday community members. Held in Abu Dhabi, it is billed as the first open race of its kind under this initiative.
