Francine Diaz and Clem Castro resolve issues after controversial gig incident

Francine Diaz and Clem Castro have put their recent gig controversy behind them, following a misunderstanding that was highly publicized on social media. In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, the actress and the Orange and Lemons vocalist, along with event producer Kylee Dioneda, clarified the sequence of events that led to the uproar during a show in Occidental Mindoro.

The incident, which caught the attention of netizens, involved the band walking off stage as Diaz performed unexpectedly before their scheduled time. Clem Castro recounted the confusion, “Ambilis ng pangyayari,” explaining that the delay and subsequent schedule shift were not communicated to them. “I explained my side. They explained their side. And we found the root cause of the problem—it’s miscommunication.”

Diaz expressed her regret over the situation, admitting to being unprepared for the sudden change, “Okay na po kami ni Sir Clem. Okay naman na po, nagkaayos naman na,” she stated, acknowledging her part in the confusion. “I should’ve acknowledged them. But because of intimidation, hindi ko po alam ‘yung gagawin ko,” she added, “Nag-apologize din po ako kay Sir Clem, kasi kahit hindi ko po intention na mag-disrespect, ganun po ang nangyari. Ganun ‘yung naging kalabasan.”

Producer Kylee Dioneda also apologized for the oversight, which led to the miscommunication: “Humihingi po ako ng pasensya sa mga nangyari,” Dioneda noted. “Ito po talaga ay miscommunication lang po ng lahat, sa dami po ng nangyari that time sa event.”

The parties involved decided against releasing an official statement to avoid exacerbating the situation. Clem concluded, “We don’t want more assumptions, more judgments from the masses, music supporters, or fans. We don’t want to give more confusions.”
