Pickleball’s foothold in the UAE widened on July 25, 2026, when 76 competitors from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai gathered at 321 Sports on Hudayriyat Island for the sport’s newest capital showcase. The day of matches, organized by Breakpoint Tennis Club – UAE, ran across Beginner and Intermediate divisions and doubled as a gathering point for players from clubs scattered across the region.
The competition served as the club’s first major pickleball event in Abu Dhabi, and organizers structured it to let entrants test their abilities in a graded, competitive setting while meeting others drawn to the game. Feedback from those who took part pointed to the clarity of the scheduling, the fairness of the brackets, and the openness with which the organizing committee handled communication throughout the day.
Much of the turnout reflected how quickly the sport has caught on among Filipinos in the Emirates, alongside a broader mix of residents who have adopted it. Entrants arriving from separate clubs and communities shared court time built around teamwork and mutual respect, carrying that conduct past the final points of their matches.
BTC Pickleball Abu Dhabi credited its sponsors, its volunteers, and the members of its organizing committee for keeping the event running without disruption. The club has signaled it intends to stage further tournaments and community programs tied to fitness and social connection, and it has opened its doors to newcomers of any age or ability who want to pick up the game and join its ranks.
