Filipino haute couture designer Michael Cinco has opened a new location in Qatar, announcing on his official Facebook page on July 12, 2026 that Michael Cinco Qatar is “now officially open” in Lusail, Doha. The post directed prospective clients to book appointments through WhatsApp.
The opening formalizes an expansion the designer first signaled last year. When the boutique was announced in 2025, it was billed as bringing his couture and ready-to-wear collections closer to clients in Qatar’s growing luxury fashion market, extending a business he has run out of Dubai for more than two decades.
Cinco was born in Catbalogan, Samar, and established his eponymous label in Dubai in 2003. He has built an international reputation for dramatic, heavily embellished gowns and has dressed celebrities including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Aishwarya Rai, with his work appearing on red carpets at Cannes and the Met Gala. Among his best-known commissions is the Swarovski-encrusted wedding gown he designed for Austrian singer Victoria Swarovski, which weighed 46 kilograms and was reported to be adorned with 500,000 crystals.
The Qatar location marks a further step in the designer’s regional growth beyond his Dubai atelier, into Lusail, the planned city north of Doha that anchors much of Qatar’s recent luxury and commercial development.
