A Filipina tourist is recovering in Croatia after sustaining serious injuries in a fall at a popular viewing area in Dubrovnik while taking photographs, according to a report by GMA’s 24 Oras.
The woman, believed by Croatian authorities to be around 30 years old, was hurt after falling from the tourist site. Her identity has not been released publicly.
A fellow Filipino who witnessed the incident said strong winds were blowing when the accident occurred. The woman sustained injuries to her head and arm, along with a severe leg injury that required surgery.
She is currently in stable condition and remains under close medical observation, the report said.
Croatian authorities are investigating the circumstances of the fall as they work to establish what happened at the site.
The incident comes after other travelers were involved in fatal accidents while taking photographs at hazardous locations. In early 2025, a tourist from Hong Kong died after being struck by a train while photographing herself on railway tracks. A Korean travel influencer also died that year after falling at a volcano in Mongolia while taking photos.
