Emirates enhances Osaka flights with A380 upgrade and premium economy

Emirates Airlines announces plans to enhance its services to the Japanese city of Osaka with the introduction of the A380 aircraft, starting from June 1. The upgraded service will feature the airline’s latest product, Premium Economy, making Osaka the second Japanese gateway to operate with the newly upgraded aircraft.

The deployment of the A380 to Osaka will offer increased seat capacity on flights to and from Japan’s second largest city. Alongside the introduction of Premium Economy Class, passengers can expect refreshed interiors across First, Business, and Economy Class cabins.

Commencing June 1, Emirates’ four-class A380 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft currently operating the EK316/EK317 service to and from Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX). This upgrade will provide an additional 910 weekly seats between Dubai and Osaka, offering more connectivity to popular destinations such as Milan, Madrid, Brazil, Paris, and London.

Emirates’ A380 deployed to Osaka will boast 14 First Class suites, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 56 seats in Premium Economy Class, and 338 ergonomically designed seats in Economy Class. The Premium Economy cabin, situated at the front of the main deck, will feature a 2-4-2 configuration with generous seat pitch and width, along with customized amenities including in-seat charging points and a side cocktail table.

Passengers across all classes can enjoy Emirates’ renowned hospitality, extensive entertainment options, and expertly curated in-flight amenities. The Premium Economy product, initially launched on the Dubai-Narita route, has garnered significant interest from customers and is currently available on flights to 14 other destinations globally.

Emirates’ decision to bolster A380 operations to Kansai International Airport aligns with Japan’s anticipated increase in tourism, with Osaka and Kyoto among the attractions in the vibrant Kansai region. The move also coincides with a packed schedule of events, including the Osaka-Kansai Expo slated for 2025.
