Passengers moving through Dubai International Airport this month are being urged to complete formalities before arriving, as the terminal braces for one of its heaviest fortnights of the year.
Airport operators say roughly 3 million people will pass through DXB during the opening two weeks of July, a figure tied to the start of the school break in Dubai. Daily traffic is projected to cross 200,000 on multiple dates within that window, with an average of 265,000 travelers moving through the facility across the wider peak stretch.
Sunday, July 12 is forecast to be the heaviest single day, with departures and international transfers pushing the count past 225,000.
A summer-readiness plan has been activated to manage the volume and maintain passenger safety.
Among the recommendations issued to travelers: check in online where possible, use the self-service kiosks and bag drop counters in Terminal 3, and turn up no earlier than three hours ahead of a scheduled departure. Families are reminded that Smart Gates are open to children above 12, which can shorten waits at passport control.
DXB also pointed travelers to DUBZ, a service that handles check-in and baggage pickup at a residence or hotel, removing part of the terminal process from the airport itself.
Flight and gate information can be tracked through DXB Express Maps, a wayfinding platform accessible by scanning a QR code displayed on any flight information screen. The tool carries live flight data spanning every terminal.
Provisions for People of Determination include signposted accessibility routes and staff trained to offer discreet assistance to guests wearing Sunflower Lanyards. Terminal 2 houses a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge.
Emirates has issued parallel guidance ahead of what the carrier also anticipates will be a congested stretch, telling passengers to reach the airport three hours before their flight departs.
