Duterte turns 81 behind ICC bars as family builds digital home for his supporters

A website dedicated to the supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte went live on Saturday, coinciding with his 81st birthday on March 28, with the Duterte family describing it as a space to honor the correspondence that has poured in since his detention at the International Criminal Court.

The portal, accessible through a web address bearing the former president’s full name, greets visitors with a banner image of Duterte under the title “Loved by the Filipino People.” The family framed the site’s purpose as a response to the sustained outpouring of support following his ICC detention in March 2025.

“More importantly, your voices, your energy, and your continued presence give us strength and reaffirm our belief that true power lies in the people who remain faithful to God,” the family said in a notice published on the site.

An archive section displays scanned copies of letters sent to the former president, with names and personal details of senders blacked out. A contact page allows visitors to submit their names and email addresses to send personal messages and receive updates from the family.

The website also carries a biographical section on Duterte covering his early life, education, and political career.

The family took pains to distance the platform from any fundraising or commercial activity. A disclaimer at the bottom of the page states the site is “privately owned and operated” and that no donations — financial or otherwise — are solicited or accepted, and no merchandise is sold or endorsed.

“Misrepresentation of this website or its authorized activities may result in legal action,” the disclaimer warns, adding that no representatives, partners, groups, or volunteers are authorized to act on the family’s behalf for such purposes.
