A total of 836 inmates from various nationalities held in Dubai’s correctional and punitive facilities are set to be freed following a pardon order issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the lead-up to Eid Al Adha.
Dubai’s Attorney General, Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, said the decision reflects Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to reuniting the detainees with their families and offering them a path toward rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Dubai Public Prosecution and Dubai Police have already begun coordinating to carry out the necessary legal steps to implement the order, Al Humaidan confirmed.
