AED 1 million boost for Dubai’s struggling tenants as charity joins rental relief effort

A charitable organisation has stepped in to reinforce Dubai’s safety net for tenants in financial distress, pledging AED 1 million to the Rental Disputes Center’s humanitarian assistance arm.

Dar Al Ber Society’s contribution will flow directly into the RDC’s “Yad Al Khair” Committee, a body that evaluates and extends financial relief to renters caught in default situations or legal disputes over unpaid obligations. Eligibility is determined through a review of each applicant’s social circumstances, income, debt load, payment record, and submitted documentation.

Appeal Judge Abdulaziz Anouhi, who heads the “Yad Al Khair” Committee, called the donation a meaningful expansion of the panel’s reach, saying it would allow more tenants struggling with rental payments to access support while keeping all disbursements within legally approved procedures that safeguard the rights of every party involved.

For Dar Al Ber, the move is part of a wider push to deepen ties with government and judicial institutions. Board Member and Executive Vice President Hisham Al Hashemi framed the partnership as a model for how institutional cooperation should work.

“The cooperation with the Rental Disputes Center and the ‘Yad Al Khair’ Committee represents an advanced model of institutional integration, ensuring that assistance is delivered to rightful beneficiaries within transparent regulatory frameworks,” he said.

RDC Chairman Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed tied the collaboration to the UAE’s “Year of the Family 2026,” describing it as consistent with national objectives around social cohesion and household stability.

“The Center places great importance on strengthening strategic partnerships with charitable and humanitarian organisations, based on our firm belief that integration between such institutions is a key pillar in supporting family and social stability in Dubai,” he said.

Al Hashemi added that Dar Al Ber Society remains committed to promoting the values of compassion, justice, and shared responsibility through ongoing community initiatives.
