A large-scale cycling event in Dubai is set to bring together athletes and residents this weekend, combining competition with community engagement and fitness-focused activities.
Organised by Dubai Police in partnership with the UAE Cycling Federation, the ‘Proud of UAE’ race will take place on Sunday, welcoming both experienced riders and casual participants. The initiative highlights the country’s push for healthier lifestyles while reinforcing a sense of national pride.
The race covers a 60-kilometre route and is open to men and women aged 18 and above. Participants will begin their ride at 6am from Nad Al Sheba Police Station, looping through designated roads before returning to the starting point. Organisers estimate that cyclists will complete the course in about four hours.
A total of AED 264,000 has been allocated for the top ten finishers, adding a competitive edge to the event. The race is expected to feature a mix of professional athletes, amateur cyclists, Emiratis and expatriates.
Beyond the competition, the programme includes activities aimed at families and spectators. Various units will present interactive displays, including high-end police vehicles, working K9 teams, and cycling demonstrations designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Registration remains open through official Dubai Police platforms, with organisers positioning the event as a shared experience that blends sport, public interaction, and community participation.
