Dubai-based driver wins AED 25 million in Big Ticket draw after six years of monthly entries

A Dubai-based driver from Kerala has become the latest Big Ticket millionaire, claiming the AED 25 million grand prize in the raffle’s most recent live draw.

Abdul Rasheed Allipra Valappil Abdu, 48, has lived in the UAE for 17 years while his family stays in India. He had been buying tickets monthly for six years before his number came up — and he found out he had won while in the company of friends. “I’m very happy, it was a special moment to find out while I was with my friends,” he said.

He has not yet settled on what to do with the winnings, saying he plans to consult his family and friends first. He also indicated he would keep participating in future draws. “Thank you to Big Ticket for making trying worth it,” he added.

The same draw produced a separate winner in the luxury car category. Asharaf Abdulla, a 41-year-old Abu Dhabi-based driver also from Kerala, took home a Land Rover Defender — his first Big Ticket win after nine straight years of participation. Like Abdu, he has been living in the UAE without his family.

Abdulla credited a friend for nudging him toward the Dream Car ticket. “My friend encouraged me to buy the Dream Car ticket, and I thought, why not? I never imagined it would turn into a winning moment,” he said. The win carries a communal dimension: Abdulla belongs to a group of 40 co-participants and is also part of two other ticketing groups. He said he intends to split the prize among them. “Thank you to the Big Ticket family, and hard luck to everyone who didn’t win this time,” he said.

Big Ticket’s May campaign is now running with an AED 20 million grand prize at its center, with a live draw scheduled for June 3. Supporting promotions include The Big Win — offering up to AED 600,000 — weekly e-draws totaling AED 400,000, and ongoing luxury car giveaways.
