Motorists and residents across the UAE should prepare for reduced visibility in the coming days, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicting fog or light fog across parts of the coast and interior over a three-day stretch beginning Sunday morning.
The NCM said cumulus clouds building over eastern and southern parts of the country could bring rainfall by Tuesday afternoon. A dip in temperatures is also on the way, alongside low clouds moving over the eastern regions starting Sunday.
Sunday itself will feel humid at first, with fog likely settling over some coastal and inland zones as temperatures fall. Skies will otherwise stay mostly clear, though low clouds are expected in the east. Winds from the northwest to southeast will run light to moderate and occasionally pick up, measuring 10 to 25 km/h and reaching 35 km/h. Both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will see regular waves.
Conditions on Monday follow a similar pattern, with morning humidity and possible fog giving way to generally clear skies and some afternoon clouds in the east. Wind speeds will match Sunday’s, while the Arabian Gulf shifts to regular-to-moderate waves and the Sea of Oman holds at regular waves.
By Tuesday, skies turn clear to partly cloudy after another humid, fog-prone morning. This is the day forecasters flag for potential rain, tied to the cumulus formations developing across the east and south during the afternoon.
For Saturday, the NCM described generally clear skies with low clouds surfacing in the east during the morning hours. Northwesterly to southeasterly winds will blow light to moderate at 10 to 20 km/h, occasionally climbing to 30 km/h, with regular waves reported across both bodies of water.
