Abu Dhabi Police reward good drivers with free petrol cards

In a heartwarming gesture, Abu Dhabi’s Happiness Patrol officers surprised drivers with free petrol cards instead of issuing traffic fines. This initiative, part of the ongoing Arab Traffic Week, aims to promote awareness and encourage adherence to traffic rules.

Lt-Col Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi, from the Security Media Department, disclosed that alongside Adnoc petrol cards, drivers received gifts and road safety brochures. Emphasizing the importance of obeying traffic regulations, Lt-Col Al Saadi urged motorists to prioritize safety for all road users.

Arab Traffic Week, running until May 10, underscores the significance of respecting rules and avoiding distractions while driving. Abu Dhabi Police have a history of recognizing responsible drivers, previously awarding TV sets and certificates to commend their efforts. Similar programs are also conducted in other emirates.

Maj Nasser Saleh bin Badouh Al Darmaki, head of the Happiness Patrol Team, highlighted the role of such initiatives in promoting “traffic positivity” and ensuring road safety.
