Taiwan has opened its doors wider to foreign workers by introducing a multiple-entry visa scheme, a move that particularly benefits more than 150,000 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) based in the country. This development was reported by the Migrant Workers Office in Kaohsiung and confirmed by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO).
The newly introduced multiple-entry individual visa enables the holder to enter and leave Taiwan multiple times, offering greater flexibility and freedom of movement throughout the visa’s validity period. This policy change is expected to simplify travel arrangements for OFWs, facilitating their movement between Taiwan and their home country.
MECO has taken steps to ensure that OFWs are well-informed about the new visa provisions. It is crucial for OFWs planning to leave Taiwan for vacation to notify their manpower agencies at least three weeks in advance.
