DMW hand-delivers P50,000 in emergency aid to distressed Kuwait OFW in Parañaque

PARAÑAQUE CITY — A returning worker who sought government help after facing difficulties abroad received her assistance without having to leave her neighborhood, as Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) staff brought the funds directly to her door.

Glacy A. Sacayan, an overseas Filipino worker who had been in distress in Kuwait, was granted P50,000 through the AKSYON Fund, a component of the administration’s UPLIFT Program. The release took place on August 13, 2026.

Rather than requiring Sacayan to process the request at an office, agency personnel traveled to her home on F. Cruz St. in the Creekside area of BF Homes to complete the handover of the aid she had applied for.

The delivery fell under the supervision of DMW-NCR Regional Director Atty. Falconi Millar, whose office has continued extending support to migrant workers and their families. Officials tied the effort to a standing instruction from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. calling for faster, more compassionate government service that Filipinos can reach more easily.

“Ang DMW bilang Tahanan ng OFW ay hindi lamang isang lugar o gusali, ito ay pangako na saan man at kailan man kailanganin ng ating OFW ang agarang kalinga at saklolo, naroon ang DMW,” Atty. Millar said.

Workers who find themselves in a crisis or distressed situation abroad may check their eligibility for the AKSYON Fund by reaching out to the DMW Central Office or the nearest regional office or Migrant Workers Office.
