Actors from around the world are being invited to audition for the central trio of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, as production moves forward on the first live-action film based on Naruto.
The project will be led by filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He is attached to both write and direct the adaptation.
The search focuses on assembling the iconic Team 7, a group central to the original story created by Masashi Kishimoto, which follows young ninjas navigating missions, rivalries, and personal growth.
“Kishimoto-sensei’s stories have inspired generations of fans around the globe, and it’s an honor to bring his world and characters to the big screen in live action for the very first time,” Cretton said.
