The Department of Migrant Workers in Northern Mindanao is partnering with the private sector to connect returning overseas Filipino workers with more than 3,400 employment opportunities, as the government steps up reintegration support for migrant workers heading home.
The initiative is being rolled out through the “Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa: National Reintegration Network,” a program set to launch Tuesday at the tourism hall inside the Cagayan de Oro City Hall compound.
DMW-10 Officer-in-Charge Director Emmanuel Toledo said the job openings are predominantly domestic positions, though partner agencies are also presenting overseas placements across several destination countries for workers who wish to continue working abroad.
“If they choose to work overseas again, we have available overseas job opportunities through our Philippine recruitment agencies that would ensure safe and legal employment,” Toledo said.
Those who opt to remain in the Philippines will not be limited to job matching alone. The program also extends access to livelihood programs, financial assistance, and skills training aimed at helping returnees establish a steady income or start their own enterprises.
Toledo called on returning OFWs across the region to attend and take advantage of what is available. The DMW-10 has brought in recruitment agencies, private sector partners, and local government units to broaden the scope of support on offer.
The launch is framed within the national government’s wider commitment to recognizing migrant workers’ economic contributions while ensuring they are not left without options upon repatriation.
