Guests at Soil Café on Kite Beach will have their drinks delivered by robots over a three-day period starting May 8, as Yango Group brings its autonomous technology into a working café environment for a live public demonstration.
The deployment runs from May 8 to 10, with the robots operating between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm each day. Alongside the delivery units, Yango’s AI assistant Yasmina will be stationed to field customer questions, suggest menu items, and assist with orders — functions the company says are meant to free up human staff for more complex service tasks during peak hours.
Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East, said: “Dubai is one of the most dynamic markets globally for testing new technologies, with high customer expectations and a strong appetite for innovation. It’s a natural place to show how AI and robotics can work in real service environments, supporting staff during peak times, improving speed and consistency, and helping businesses manage growing demand. We show how Yango Group technology can help staff to focus on what matters most: customer interaction and experience.”
The café setting is a deliberate choice. Unlike controlled demonstration environments, a functioning beachside café presents real-world variables — fluctuating foot traffic, concurrent orders, and direct interaction with general consumers — making it a more representative test of how the technology performs in hospitality and retail conditions.
Yango’s delivery robots are already active in urban logistics, built to move through pedestrian areas autonomously while carrying multiple orders and adjusting routes in real time. In the Gulf, the company has partnered with noon to expand autonomous last-mile delivery, positioning robotics as a scalable answer to rising e-commerce and food delivery volumes across the region.
