A Philippine-based robotics competition organizer is pushing through with its international Dubai edition next month, pivoting to a fully online format as regional instability makes large-scale in-person gatherings impractical.
Erovoutika’s Robolution Dubai 2026, originally planned as a hybrid event at BITS Pilani’s Dubai International Academic City campus, will now run entirely through a digital platform from April 24 to 26. The in-person component has been deferred to a later date in the year, though no revised schedule has been announced.
The organizing committee framed the shift as a continuity measure, citing conditions across the Gulf region as the reason for the format change. No specific incidents were named.
Rather than a scaled-back alternative, organizers are positioning the digital competition — now branded eRobolution 2026 – Global Online Competition — as a broader stage for participation. The virtual format opens the event to students, educators, and innovators across multiple countries who may not have been able to travel to Dubai.
Competition categories span robotics, artificial intelligence, programming, mathematics, and science.
Robolution, which Erovoutika launched in 2019, has grown from a domestic Philippine competition into an international event with participants from multiple countries. The Dubai leg, co-hosted by BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, is among its highest-profile international iterations.
Registration for the April online competition remains open through the organizer’s official channels.
