Philippine Airlines has halted its Manila-Riyadh route through at least April 8, 2026, citing unstable security conditions across parts of the Middle East that have created uncertainty in regional airspace and airport operations.
The carrier said the decision to ground flights PR 654 and 655 — which serve the Manila-Riyadh-Manila corridor — reflects a precautionary stance as conditions on the ground remain fluid.
Overseas Filipino Workers traveling between Saudi Arabia and the Philippines are among those most directly affected by the suspension. PAL acknowledged the disruption to this group specifically, noting their dependence on the route to move between their families and their places of employment abroad.
Passengers holding tickets on the suspended flights may choose from three options: rebooking at no charge once service resumes, conversion of tickets into travel credits, or a full refund under applicable fare rules. The airline said its customer service teams are available through its website, contact center, and ticket offices.
Cargo operations on the affected routes have also been disrupted. PAL said it is working with logistics partners to identify alternative routing for essential shipments.
The airline said it is coordinating with aviation authorities and other stakeholders to determine when it can safely restore service, and that the April 8 date reflects its current operational planning window rather than a fixed endpoint.
