A new psychological support service is now available across Dubai, offering free and confidential access to trained counselors for anyone within the emirate — whether they live there, work there, or are simply passing through.
Called ‘Itma’en,’ an Arabic term meaning “Rest Assured,” the hotline operates daily from 9am to midnight and can be reached by dialing 800506. The service was established through a joint effort by Dubai Health, the Community Development Authority, and the Dubai Health Authority, signaling a coordinated push by government bodies to treat mental wellbeing as a public health priority rather than a secondary concern.
Callers are connected to specialised counselors trained to provide psychological support and professional guidance on a confidential basis. No cost is involved, and the service is open to citizens, residents, and visitors alike.
The CDA is also recruiting volunteers from the medical and social services fields — including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and social workers — to support the initiative through the Dubai Now app. Those who sign up will be deployed to provide psychological first aid and help reinforce what authorities describe as a broader community support network across the city.
The launch reflects a wider policy direction in Dubai toward building infrastructure that addresses mental health needs alongside physical ones, treating both as essential components of a functioning, inclusive city.
