Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, the youngest daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, took to Instagram to share heartfelt messages for her father, now detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
Posting throwback photos of the ex-leader, Kitty recalled the lessons and affection he instilled in her. “You would always say, ‘keep on loving, it is what makes the world go round.’ Here is mine—undivided, indubitable, everlasting. Then, now, always,” she wrote.
In another note, she reflected on their bond as father and daughter: “You always called me the flower of your life. I pray you know you are the sunlight of mine.”
The young Duterte previously joined her siblings—Vice President Sara Duterte, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, and Acting Mayor Baste Duterte—at The Hague, after being summoned by their father during his detention. The rare family reunion drew attention as Rodrigo Duterte continues to face international proceedings over his controversial war on drugs.
