A Filipina overseas worker was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Saturday, stopping her from flying back to her job in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group, the woman was served an arrest warrant tied to an illegal gambling case in La Union. Authorities said the charges were connected to a tong-its game, though the OFW reportedly insisted she was only watching when the raid happened.
The warrant, dated August 29, 2024, set bail at ₱10,000. She is currently held at the Manila Police District’s Sta. Cruz Police Station while awaiting further court proceedings.
