Authorities in Davao City uncovered a major drug operation on Sunday morning after seizing an estimated P23 million worth of illegal narcotics from a residential unit in Cabantian, believed to be used as a repackaging and distribution center.
In a statement, the National Bureau of Investigation Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI SEMRO XI) said the operation took place in a subdivision where the suspects had allegedly turned a quiet home into a full-scale drug hub.
“The entry and evidence recovery revealed a covert drug operation camouflaged under the guise of routine delivery services,” the agency reported.
Recovered from the scene were nearly five kilograms of high-grade marijuana or “Kush” valued at P5.86 million, and over 1.5 kilograms of shabu worth around P17.3 million. Authorities also found heat sealers, repackaging tools, and a collection of imported cannabis-laced products, including vape pens, edibles, and live resin. Food delivery boxes were also discovered, allegedly used to move the drugs discreetly.
The NBI said further investigation is ongoing to trace the full scope of the network involved.
