A 28-year-old man was arrested in Caloocan for allegedly blackmailing his 15-year-old ex-girlfriend and demanding money in exchange for not releasing intimate videos and photos of her.
According to a report on 24 Oras, the suspect was caught in an entrapment operation conducted by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG).
Police Lieutenant Wallen Arancillo, PNP-ACG spokesperson, stated that the suspect used their private recordings to pressure the victim into giving him money.
However, the suspect denied the accusations, claiming he only wanted “closure” after their breakup. He also insisted that he intended to delete the materials after meeting with his former partner.
“I was just overwhelmed by my emotions,” the suspect said in his defense, adding that he felt abandoned after the sudden breakup.
Despite his explanation, authorities have charged him with multiple offenses, including grave coercion and child abuse.
