The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai issued a joint statement expressing profound gratitude to the UAE Government for its humanitarian efforts through the 2024 Amnesty Program.
The amnesty initiative, which allows undocumented individuals to legalize their stay or return home without incurring penalties, has already provided thousands of Filipinos in the UAE with renewed hope and opportunities.
“We extend our sincerest gratitude to the UAE Government for its generosity and compassion in offering the 2024 Amnesty Program,” the joint statement read. “This initiative demonstrates the UAE’s dedication to supporting migrant communities and highlights a profound adherence to humanitarian principles.”
The statement underscored that many undocumented Filipinos have already availed themselves of the program, with some securing legal residency and others opting for repatriation to reunite with their families. Notably, children are also benefiting from this initiative, ensuring a brighter future for Filipino families in need.
The Philippine Embassy and Consulate General issued an appeal to eligible Filipinos to take immediate action and not delay availing themselves of the amnesty opportunity.
“If you are eligible for the UAE Amnesty Program, please take action now. Do not wait until the deadline of 31 December 2024. This is your chance to secure your future, and we are here to support you every step of the way,” the statement urged.
The amnesty program has transformed the lives of many undocumented Filipinos who, after years of uncertainty, are now able to legalize their stay or return home without the burden of penalties. “We have witnessed many inspiring stories of Filipinos who, after years of being undocumented, have finally been able to return home or secure legal residency,” the Embassy and Consulate emphasized.
