With a fulfilling role as a Contestant Coordinator and Researcher at ABS-CBN, he has turned his dreams into reality through perseverance and hard work. Ernesto M. Viduya, affectionately called “Kuya Alvin Vidmix,” traces his roots to La Union but now lives in Laguna, where his story inspires many.
Kuya Alvin vividly recalls the days when he would pass by ABS-CBN, imagining himself watching a live show in its studio. “Sabi ko noon sa sarili ko, isang araw makakapanood din ako ng live dito,” he shared. That dream materialized when he finally stepped into the Showtime studio as an audience member. It was then that a new goal was born — to work for the network that had inspired him. With dedication and faith, he achieved his dream and became part of ABS-CBN’s production team.
Today, Alvin contributes to some of the biggest TV shows in the Philippines, including It’s Showtime, Pilipinas Got Talent, Minute to Win It, and Born to Be a Star. His expertise as a Contestant Coordinator and Researcher has made him instrumental in helping countless aspiring performers fulfill their dreams of appearing on national television. “Nakakataba ng puso makita ang mga natulungan naming makamit ang pangarap nila,” he said.
Alvin credits his mentors for his growth in the entertainment industry, particularly Master J. (Jimmy Capulong), Mr. Reon Hernandez, and Boss Morly Nueva. Their guidance shaped his career and fueled his passion for uplifting others.
Outside of his professional achievements, Alvin is a family man who takes pride in keeping his siblings united after the loss of their parents. “Ako ang panganay, kaya kinuha ko lahat ng kapatid ko at ako ang nagtaguyod sa kanila,” he recounted. His efforts bore fruit as his siblings now lead stable lives with their own families.
Despite the hardships, Alvin remains committed to helping others. His motto, “Ang pagtulong sa kapwa ay isang magandang blessing na ipinagkaloob sa atin,” serves as a testament to his selflessness. For him, assisting others is not only fulfilling but also a way of paying forward the blessings he has received.
